Occupational Therapy
Occupations are the tasks and activities of daily life which look after our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. We engage in occupations from the moment we are born, learning skills on our own or with others!
Occupational therapists help enhance skills, remove barriers and find adaptive ways for people to do all of the activities they would like to do in their daily routine. This could mean helping with school, work, relationships, daily routines, community or leisure activities.
Occupational therapists see beyond diagnoses and limitations, we see your true potential and work to empower you to reach your goals. Occupational therapists look at enhancing your skills and changing the environment or activity, not changing you. All interventions are focused on your wellbeing and ability to participate in the activities that make life meaningful to you.
Andy OT offers Occupational Therapy services to:
NDIS participants
Private paying families
ANDY Occupational Therapy provides neurodiversity affirming therapy to our services users. We acknowledge that all brains are unique - our aim is to celebrate those differences and validate that every individual brain has it’s own challenges, strengths and qualities.
Neurodiversity is a term used to describe the idea that all brains are unique in the way that they function, learn and process information. ‘Neurodiversity affirming’ means that everyone’s brain, preferences and ways of functioning are all viewed as valid and do not need to be changed for the individuals to live meaningful lives.
At Andy OT, we aim to assist our clients and families in an authentic way which validates all neurotypes and does not encourage masking or changing the natural way our clients learn, understand and process information.
